Jenny Barden is the author of The Lost Duchess, an Elizabethan adventure about a lady-in-waiting to the queen caught up in the tragedy behind the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. She has also written Mistress of the Sea, a love story within the audacious attack on the Spanish bullion supply that launched the career of Francis Drake. Both books are published by Ebury Press. Jenny is an active member of the HNS, having co-ordinated their last London conference, she is also a member of the Society of Authors, the Historical Writers’ Association and the Romantic Novelists’ Association, and she speaks regularly at libraries, festivals and literary events. In pursuit of her obsession with history, Jenny has trekked across the Andes with mules to find the lost city of Vilcabamba, been marooned on a coral island in the San Blas Archipelago, and has given mid-winter talks in full Elizabethan dress in the hold of the Golden Hinde. She lives on a farm in Dorset with English longhorn cows, Dorset horned sheep, a Friesian warhorse and many other animals.
